Building Our Community, One Gift at a Time!

Greetings from the Friends of the Nancy Carson Library, your North Augusta hometown library. Built in 1989, the Library has served the community well. The Friends Board has paid for several significant improvements such as automatic doors at both entrances and an electronic sign that announces library events. However, the Library has not undergone any major improvements since being built.

The Friends Board of the Nancy Carson Library has partnered with Aiken County to fund an exciting $1.2 million rejuvenation of the Library. Improvements were based on staff needs and designed by McMillan Pazden Smith, an architectural firm that has extensive experience with library design. This firm has designed the large renovation of the Aiken County Library.

For the Nancy Carson Library, the changes will include a more prominent location for the children’s area, a dedicated teen space, small group study rooms, updated technology, attractive furnishings, streamlined service desks, and an ADA-compliant family restroom.

To help fund the Friends portion of the renovation, we are inviting individuals, businesses and families to become part of the Nancy Carson Library’s legacy for generations to come through our Naming Opportunity Campaign. There are seven significant naming opportunities. Pledges can be paid over three years.

If you feel that North Augusta deserves a great library and are interested in a Naming Opportunity, please call Gene Helmich at 803-640-3405.  You can also donate online by clicking the “Donate.”
